Flash Gordon is Queen’s ninth studio album and the soundtrack to the 1980 science-fiction film of the same name. Predominantly instrumental, it contains only two tracks with lyrics. Flash’s Theme was issued as a single under the title “Flash”. The album reached number ten in the United Kingdom and number twenty-three in the United States.
A 2011 reissue marking Queen’s fortieth anniversary added an EP of related material. It appeared in June in most territories and in September in the United States and Canada.
